Hey guys. I have been pondering the idea of swapping my 2.5l for the 3.5 in my 2011 AC coupe, but I am not sure how much of a job it is other than swapping the motor and the trans. Has anyone ever done this. Will the Maxima 3.5 fit? If anyone has any info or can help in any way would you please let me know. Thanks much!!

The 2.5 new vs 3.5 new was about $5k in price difference. So, the price difference for used is even less. That means, to get a factory reliable swap for less than $5K, you need to sell your car and buy a different one. It will be a great swap because everything will work and any extended warranties will still be applicable and you'll get some of the nicer features of the 3.5 in addition to the bigger engine. That's the cheapest and most reliable swap option. You'll spend more money and more time and you'll get less with anything else.

Here's a discussion thread that may or may not be of interest:

Yeah, man, the 3.5 has come down in price so much over the years, just buy one of those and call it a day rather than wasting all that time and money and head ache on a swap.
