Hi all,

Can a 3.5 motor with mated transmission be put into a 98 maxima?

If so, what would be a good donor car year for this?

Phoning around for a transmission, a shop told me to just swap out the whole powertrain, and they happen to have a 2006 SL front clip laying around their yard, intact. (apparently, it has 80,000KMs on it) Must of been rear ended, I figure. Have not seen this thing myself. Maybe they are just trying to get some work/dollar bills out of me.

Thanks

Heeter

Great, Thanks for the link,

This would be way over my head in doing myself. I don't know if that shop knows that all this needs to be done even before the 3.5 goes in.

Thanks

If I were going to do a swap, I would only a trust a knowledgeable shop that has done a number of swaps. I wouldnt trust a random guy with a "garage" in his backyard UNLESS he had done the swap before and had proof of it
