If I have a 3.5 off of an altima can I swap my 2.5 out and put it in? Can I use the same cvt as the 2.5s. What do I need to change or do to put a 3.5 in.

interesting, the drivers who switched their cvt transmission for a 6 speed was costly.

easily i could already think it will be expensive since you'll be swapping the engine and have a new ecu that has to go with it. also means new wires sensors and i wouldnt know if it will just be a drop in and bolt on to the current transmission.

if you have the funds then i guess its no problem

You'd need new engine transmission ecu mounts wiring suspension exhaust intake just to name a few.

JMO, but unless you have some unusual attachment to the 2.5, it would be a whole lot cheaper just to trade the 2.5 for a nice 3.5

trading would be better in financial terms

also keep in mind you are trading in a freshly discontinued car ... for another

Buy a Z. Or a G if you want back seats.

Trust me on this - even if you go to a 3.5 coupe, from there you'll want more performance.

(this coming from a guy who bought two Altimas out of denial that a Z was what he really wanted in the first place.)

Forgot to mention - the 2.5 and 3.5 AC barely even share anything.

They use different CVTs (including transmissino mounts), wiring harnesses, engine mounts, ECUs, and suspension parts just to name a few. The cost would be abysmally high - so much so that you might wish you bought a preowned GT-R if it's done right with OEM parts and you're paying someone for labor.
