Hey guys fairly new to the site and haven't really posted but I've been reading up on exhaust set ups A LOT. I have an 08 coupe 3.5 and as of right now I have a RL Y pipe along with a borla axle back and an injen intake. I love how it sounds especially when I get up there on the rpms, but I still want it to be louder when I'm not getting on it. I've seen straight piped but I can't seem to find any threads or videos with straight pipes being ran along with the RL Y pipe. I'm thinking about running my the y pipe to 3 inch dual straight pipes. Any input on running that setup would be greatly appreciated!

Its going to be extremely loud and I don't recommend it. I had straight pipes without the RL Y pipe and it was nice at first but it got very annoying pretty quickly. I now have two megan racing mufflers and it is way better.

you will loose power increasing your pipe size for N/A. If you plan on running a dual system from the headers I would suggest no more than 2 and 1/4 piping and if you only plan on running a single pipe to y pipe I wouldn't go over 2 3/4 piping. In all honesty the stock piping is good enough. I just kept my stock piping size removed the cat and the resonator and added a magnaflow muffler/ypipe. Sounds amazing and definitely had an increase in power. I would say it took off around .3 seconds to .4 on my 0-60. It doesnt sound like much but definitely is for just one simple bolt on mod. I am uploading a video of my car and how it sounds later on today or tomorrow. Ill post it to the main forums so you cant miss it. 3 inch piping is for MASSIVE power not small to med power.

I have a ypipe to 1 glasspack. SUPER loud and really annoying. Might try putting a flowmaster super 10 on in a week or 2 instead of the glasspack.

Your best bet to get a little more oomph from your exhaust is to do one of two things:

1) go full catback with a flow-through design like a Greddy system.
2) get an exhaust shop to custom fabricate some test pipes and drop your other two cats (if you don't have to worry about emissions, that is). That would make your current setup much louder and increase some power, but you'd have to be sure to run either an o2 spacer to prevent check engine lights or have the exhaust shop weld you one in. You'd be one of the first (or one of the few) AC guys to try this. It would be loud, for sure.

Thanks for all the input, but after much thought and studying I decided I'm sticking with the setup i have for now. Eventually I'll try something different, but I'll worry about that once I get some coils and wheels on this b****!
