When it's in two wheel drive according to the switch it, the indicator shows it pop's out and goes into 4WD.

What would cause that? :crazy:

There's not much to go on from your description. What year is your QX4? Does the 4WD warning lamp come on for a second and then turn off as it should when you start the engine or does it stay on? Does the 4WD warning light come on at all when you start the engine or when you turn the ignition key to the ON position without starting the engine?
