Hello, I'm new to the forums. Here is a short list of reasons not to cricufy me :1) I looked for a thread on this for about an hour and couldn't find one.2) Yes, I want to frankenstein my RX7...Don't hate.3) I know next to no technical information about the SR20. All my knowledge is in rotary engines and Toyota engines.4) I am nice =]

With that out of the way...

I have an SR20 Short block that I recently purchased from a friend that I am going to rebuild and turbocharge. I would like to get rid of my crap-o rotary engine and put the SR into my RX7. I was wondering if anyone had any useful information about the swap such as:-What sort of driveline would I need or would be recommended-Any type of cutting involved-Any good links to good SR20 parts retailers for the rebuild-Anyone who could fabricate custom mounts for the swap

Any information that y'all can offer would be greatly appreciated. As I said, I'm new to the SR20DET so don't hate

Thank you very much, -Mike

if i were you i would sell the fc and buy a 240sx and put the sr in that, itl be cheaper and less of a headache. If you have the money to spend and you like the fc then go 20B or bridge port a 13b. Also 240sx looks better in my oppinion

I would have bought a 240SX but to be honest...I'm sick of seeing them. They're everywhere. And I don't have the $4500 to spend on a 20B. I'm tired of performing the maintenance on my rotary and buying a turbo rotary engine is way too expensive because I need the entire driveline from the T2. If I wanna swap another rotary in good shape, I'm looking at 3 grand anyways so I might as well put in a motor that will get more torque for less money. SR20 parts are relatively less expensive so thats why I decided to go this route. But thanks for your advice.

Do you mind if I keep in touch with you and see if you have any useful tips while you perform your swap?

well thats not a fair comparison because your car has all the aesthetics while the FC pictured doesn't.

I figured it would only be fair because this is a Nissan forum. But 240sx still looks better.

Okay well I didn't create this thread to debate which car looks better or which one is better for modding. If you don't have any useful advice, please don't reply anymore. I'm not trying to be an ***, I just need info is all. Thanks.
