Long time listener, first time caller.

I have a 2016 Rogue SV awd. A few days after getting my oil changed all of the electronics in the car shut off while driving. The car still had engine power however, I had no lights, power steering, radio or gauges. Then suddenly everything turned back on. This happened once more on the drive home and again in my way to the dealership. The car threw an Awd/abs code (I'm assuming because it lost power and kept driving) the dealership did a bunch of tests and cleaned an ABS sensor, that's all they could come up with. I got the car back and drove it for a few days, everything was fine. Then one day I got out and tried to lock the doors usuing the button on the door and got no reaction. I tried all the exterior buttons and the key fob with no reaction, so I opened the door and tried to lock it from the inside and nothing. After a few minutes of messing around it worked again. Once I started the car it was as if the battery terminal was off, all the radio/clock settings were reset and trip/fuel economy was zeroed. The dealer took it over the weekend and couldn't reproduce any issue. They check everything again and camp up empty handed. Now I have a "new"(8000km) car that only acts up every once in a while. Thoughts? Opinions? Anything?

I will say this the dealership is fantastic to deal with and are very helpful.

Could be something shorting out the power... the radio? Or something isn't grounded correctly. I'd also check the contacts on the battery, just my 2 cents

You took it to the dealer so they should have already covered this, but sometimes the simple is overlooked. As Progen said check the battery cables and terminals. It's amazing how often a cable comes loose or gets a bit of corrosion on the contact points and the car won't start. People go out and buy new batteries , starters, alternators and spend big dollars on having a dealership clean and tighten the terminals.

Go to auto zone or similar place and tell the clerk you want a battery terminal cleaner. It's an aluminum device that twists apart and has a steel brush attached. One side fits down over the terminal on the battery and you twist it, the brush is for the cable ends. Clean them up and tighten them back on the terminal. The terminals are usually held on by a 10mm nut.

If that doesn't work then check every ground you can find. Starting with the black battery cable follow it to where it attaches to the car frame. Dissemble, clean and make shinny, reassemble and on to the next and so on.

Thanks for the replys, I guess I'm look for if anyone has heard of or experienced this themselves. As mentioned before the car has 8000km on it, hasn't had time enough to corrorded. I've checked the terminals and connections nothing seems out of the ordinary or loose. The battery has been tested serviceable three separate times. If it happens again I hope I can get a video as proof.

My wife's Rogue experienced the same issues tonight. I'm taking into the dealership tomorrow to see if they can find anything. She's only had the car since January so I can't imagine corrosion will be an issue. I'll post when I gave more info.

I had a wierd problem on my pathfinder, went round a corner and lost all power, it actually turned out to be the battery clamp, as i went round a corner it was coming loose and shorting out, it eventually shorted the whole car, Id check for loose connections / bad earth...

Had the rogue in for service. There was a service bulletin regarding this issue. They tightened four different grounds and it should take care of the issue. I'll keep watching and we will see if that solves the problem on my wife's rogue.

My Rogue just did this again. I'm going to try to take it in tomorrow, starting to get frustrated with this. Think they'll straight trade me for a CRV?

Your rogue is still under warranty so let them fix it.They may trade your rogue for older crv with higher miles than your rogue. CRV will have its own share of issues

Is anyone able to get me a service bulletin number? What dealership has came up empty-handed while looking for one canada-wide. I've also called the dealership in Portland and they couldn't find a service bulletin number either. Any help will be greatly appreciated

I'm happy to report this issue seems to have been resolved.

After the interior and powersteering died, I pulled over to the side of the road where I was unable to shut the car off.

Long story short, tow truck to dealer while still running, I accidentally shorted the pos terminal to the motor mount (when my ratchet slipped) shutting the car off.

The dealer found a connector on the positive terminal not seated. It clipped in place and has worked perfectly since.

Ps. When I picked up my car it was cleaned inside and out for all my troubles.
