Car: I HAD a 1991 240sx coupe. woked NA motor. ran like 14.5 ish. blew it up @ 140 after an ECU reflash.

Alright i just got my new (well 1990) 240 on the road and i realised...its basically imposible to get it into 2nd gear without being greeted with a super bad grind. Ive been driving by going 1>3rd gear. Is there any hope in saving the trans or should i just pick one up from someone? also if anyone knows of a good trans in new jersey im interested.

Sounds like the syncro into second is screwed. Flush the transmission and fill it with some good fluid. That might help. If the problem persists, you might have to buy a new 5 speed if you arent comfortable with dissecting it.
