2nd gear grinding only when motor is cold

when i start my car up and warm it up for a little bit.... when i shift into second gear its not a smooth shift... i can feel the gears sort of grinding but not really... only happens going from 1st to 2nd... all other gears are smooth... can someone tell me whats goin on?

thats probably your transmission fluid thats heating up and allowing for better shifts rather than the engine. try a trans oil swap. also, it looks like your exeddy clutch is pretty hardcore, do you have a braided steal hydrolic clutch line? it may be expanding if not. also try bleeding your clutch. hope this helps, and i hope its not your synchros!

this happens to me also and i have an ACT clutch which isnt so big dealit might be the fluid or something since it happens to me when the cars stone cold nad i used it in the morning

my car does it tooo, its the very first shift of the morning from first to second. I have the ACT 6 puck clutch with HD pressure plate.

its a single disc, nothing fancy, lol. change the fluids.

Hey all! OEM clutch and I have always had this problem, even after a transmission rebuild. If the temps are really cold forget trying to put it into second at all. I call it my anti-theft device. Once the transmission warms up the shifts are as smooth as any 240 crunch-box could be. Anybody know of an alternate transmission for a KA24DE?

the SR's, plus a bit of modification to the bellhousing. . its geared differently too.
