replaced the coil, didnt work. I was looking on the forum and saw something about the power transistor, could this be it? Im going to try the engine temp sensors after a lil research. Will keep everyone posted, let me know if you get your car working. It wont even start now, could i have gotten 2 bad referbished distributors? They are from autozone and I have a lifetime warrenty so I can just keep going to get them over and over. What would cuase the distributor to keep going out?93240guy wrote:i have a 93 ka24de. i'm having the same problems where as soon as it get to operating temp,it shuts off. i'm thinking that its the ignition coil. can anyone comfirm that?
yeah, there is a test for it and i did it, the charts just really f'd and i dont understand it. I have them getting me another dissy(3rd dissy, and the power transistor), i also posted this under another posting about the coil.i also asked them if they could test it and was told they didnt know how to test it.hatterack89 wrote:hey have you checked the ignition control module? id check that actually i work for autozone sadley haha but yuo can take it in there and get it tested. is it turning over like cranking trying to start?
well, it might be that but i dont know. It wont even start now, and is still putting out code 11 (crank angle sensor). I cooled down the dizzy with some free-on (not spelled right) to speed up the cooling. It popped right off, there has to be something killing my crank angle sensor. Im getting a 3rd dissy and replacing the control/power transistor when it comes in. Will keep everyone posted.kyoung wrote:I had a Subaru that did similar things, the coolant temperature sensor was bad!!
Dont know yet, I just put my 3rd dizzy in, and also a new control/power transistor in today. It started right up and had about a 15min. test drive. Nother went wrong on the test drive. I also had taken out my amp before the test drive (thinking it might have been allowing a surge of power get to the the dizzy some how. I am planning on driving it to work on monday, about a 45 min. drive. I also cleaned all grounds, and took off my ground for my amp. I dont know if it was my power transistor or the amp that had been causing me my problem. I dont have a capasitor for my system, but I did install a fuse between the battery and the amp. The fuse had not been blown, but it is a 50amp fuse. I will keep everyone posted on how it went. Im going to be if it was my amp. I have installed many amps in the past and had never ran into this problem. Im affaird to turn the radio on yet, want to see how it runs with out the face plate even on. When I looked at all the grounds there wasnt any white/green crap (cant spell) around it. But thanks to everyone that had input on this. I think it was the control/power transistor the whole time, got it from advance auto parts store for $114. I hope this helps anyone having the same problem.93240guy wrote:Hey StonedRhyder, have you fixed your problem? Mine turned out to be the fuel pump.
