2nd Clutch Repaired by Nissan Tech is failing after 30k miles and needs to be replaced again.I have a 97 Maxima GXE with 126K on it. I had the clutch replaced at 95K and it is gone again. Because I sometimes leave my foot on the clutch (a bad habit which probably contributed to this early burnout) can I get the Nissan Tech (who is doing work on the side) to tighten the clutch petal so it takes a real push to engage? What else?Although I'm taking it to a Nissan Tech, but I want to know what questions to ask or requests to make (please machine the flywheel, etc.) What else can I do to make sure that as I driver I do all that I can to prevent this?

you just tell him exactly what is wrong with the car. Tell him you have a bad habit of resting your foot on the clutch pedal. There really isnt anything he can do to make it more difficult to push the clutch pedal. if he changes the hieght of it you could have either a low enguagement or a constant pressure equal to or greater then you applying pressure to itwith your foot. You simply need to get out of that habit. He will let you know if your flywheel needs maching when he gets it off to inspect it. You can however give him authorization up front to do it if its neccesary as I suspect it will need it under the circumstances.
