2nd CAS broken

The shaft snapped broken on my first and 2nd CAS and now I'm on my 3rd CAS . Anybody know whats causing this and how to check? Its getting pretty expensive

you still got the dows in the head that locate the cam belt cover?

yea make sure both dowel pins are in place, not just one. sounds like you have none in place if your snapping the shaft.

They are cylindrical in shap and they fit into the timing belt cover-side of the head. Those cylindrical dowel pins act as guides for the upper timing belt cover to properly align said timing belt cover to prevent the issue you are having now. Remove the upper timing belt cover and you will know exactly what you're looking for and/or missing. If you need another CAS, let me know as I have a couple of good ones left.

Look below the cam gear in this pic' in the red circle is the dow, there is one on the other side of the head as well.
