like the topic says i run a 2mm FET sport metal head gasket on my rb20, reason being simply it was available when i was servicing the motor. The rb20 was my first project so i really never took into consideration the compression change said gasket would cause. Anyway, i'm trying to calculate the current compression ratio on the tomei site they rate the rb20 to have a compression of 8.1 : 1 with their 1.8mm gasket. I estimate then with the 2mm its somewhere stupid low like ~7.9:1. Which would explain alot of issues ive had with turbo spool times and responsiveness.
All that being said do you guys think its worth while to go in now and replace the head gasket again with a less thick unit or can i just tune in more timing to get the low end responsiveness back?
