i have an 89 240sx with a lot of problems most i can fix but this one however, i haven't been able to figure out whats causing it. this is the problem, in the mornings after the car has warmed up for the first half hour every time i shift or start from a standstill it will accelerate like normal and then at about 2k rpms it will hesitate till it gets to about 3k rpms and then the car jumps and starts accelerating like normal again, it stops after the first half hour but i would still like to know whats causing it.

everything helps...

Wow dude. I have had the same problem with my 91 240sx. Its weird because it will do the same to me. Sometimes one day the car will accelerate fine, but they next day it has the 2k problem. I hope other people will read this so we can get this problem fixed!

check ur egr gallery port , probably plugged w/ carbon deposits. Unscrew the 4 freeze plugs on the intake manifold & poked the holes there.

look at the intake manifold runners, you will see 4 freeze plugs that u can remove only w/ allen wrench, one plug on each runner. There's a gallery underneath it w/c goes straight to the egr valve. They have holes w/c goes straight to the cylinder head intake port, to re-route exhaust gases & cool down the combustion temperatures. They are mostly plugged w/ carbon deposits, once u removed the plugged screws, just poked it through on each runner. Most of the time, these plugged screws are very tight.
