On a not so mechanical note. I lost the molding the goes under the front passenger door. It must have gotten loose in a car wash and just fell off in the street somewhere. Where could I find this?

Just kidding, you can get from calling infiniti of scottsdale, AZ (google it), or just call junkyards on http://www.car-part.com.
As for the start, sounds like the Park switch. Do you hear the shifter "click" when the ignition is on accessory and you step on the brake while in Park (engine off)?
[/url]Hey Heath, I heard what sounded like the fuel pump (the sound was coming from the back of the car). Other than that, nothing else.Q451990 wrote:When you say "didn't start" do you mean the starter is turning the engine over, but the engine doesn't start running - or do you mean you turn the key and there's just nothing happening at all?

I've never done one but i think it's called the Neutral Safety switch - Maybe that has something to do with it. Following is for a g50 but perhaps will be of help, though the symptoms are different...

What is the molding called? Paranoid Jack is a pretty bad-a** name.paranoidjack wrote:Well, that depends on where you lost it![]()

Does that mean the starter is most likely the culprit? Please keep in mind I'm a total newbie.elwesso wrote:Yeah my first thought too was the P/N switch. Try jiggling the shifter around while it's in park and see if you can get it to crank that way.
Some of the other things you mentioned makes me wonder if the starter isn't a little suspect? If the park/neutral switch is funky, it will not allow the starter to function, so knowing that the car starts normally in neutral, I'd start there.
