I just want to start off by saying thank you ahead of time for all help I receive on this subject.
Things to consider before my questions:
1. I have very little hands on experience with car engines. The most advanced job ive done is fix my friends main coolant line in his 98 saturn i-4.
2. I am fairly knowledgeable about the meta of engines and forced induction.
3. I've done a lot of hardware computer work(not comparing it to cars), was self taught on just about everything I know. So i have experience with building/taking parts in and out of a system.
4. I'm patient and consider myself a very fast learner.
5. I don't have the money to do this right now. This is more of a pre-game so im somewhat prepared when I am ready to start doing it. I will be taking extensive notes/saving all this information.
6. Putting a 2jz into a 300zx is literally my dream car.You can try to talk me out of it but I most likely will not budge :P
So...
This is the turbo setup I want to put on the 2JZ

This is one of the guys that engineered it talking a little about it

Call me crazy but I live in LA where driving stick can become unwieldy due to traffic, so im looking to possibly go auto on this project (still have an open mind for manual though).
Now my real questions are:
-Is this a good, feasible, and logical turbo to put on the jz if its going into a 90-96 300zx?
-Is it possible for me to do this swap at home? If not (because of my inexperience), what steps should I take in eventually being capable of doing it? (Im not asking this just to get this car built, I love cars and want to be able to work on them as a hobby)
-If doing this swap is no where NEAR close in my future, can you give me a very very rough ball park estimate of what a shop would charge to do a swap like this?
-Or should i just stfu and gtfo????
THANKS!
