OK this isnt realy nissan related, but after searching lexus boards and toyota boards to no avail I figured everyone here would prob have a better idea.(excuse the off-topicness) Im kinda interested in the possibility of a 2jz GTE swap into a Lexus SC300. The car already houses the N/A version of the supra motor (2JZ). Anyway I was doing some research as to where to get one of these motors and they are EXTREAMLY hard to find a source for. The only importer I was able to find that had a clip for sale was Venus (an aristo clip). anyway I was wondering if anyone knew a good reliable source for 2jz clips for sale. an aristo clip is just fine, but if I go that route I would also have to find a 6 speed manual transmission. The reason I want a good source is that I want a compleate clip with everything included that runs good. As far as I can tell this is quite a difficult swap, and there is very little support for the swap (not much of an online community). This will make things difficult, but the rarity will make it more than worth while. Venus is a little too iffy for me, and the aristo clip they have looks like its in bad shape. Any and all info will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Everyone!

yah i have an issue of turmo mag, but they go into no specifics, only that they got it done at car tumes :rolleyes and that the motor was $4000 and the labor was $8500 :( the wireing may be doable because there is a book by this dude how to do all the wiring (but the book costs $200) id only buy it after i was 100% sure im going to do the swap.

I think that the car will be fetured next month cause I was at a drag racing seminar last sat and the guy who did the swap article was there and he was talking about it and a bunch of stuff that is going to be fetured on it. I think that (dont quote me on this) that it is almost a straight bolt in. and that it would be best to use a jdm engine. I think that he just pulled a 6 speed off of any supra engine and it worked. Also you could try and just email the guy that wrote the article.

That sounds good! I dont see why the instalation is soooo fregan expensive! Another company charges like $11,000 for drive in drive out, but thats with the stock 5spd on the car, which seems prone to breaking......damn! but ya the swap seems promising because its not common at all, and I love uncommoness! Is there a place in the mag that give the editors email addys? i didnt know that im gunna cheak!

install is easy, i am in the process of doing a 2jz into a mk II supra. i am really a nissan guy, but i have to make money. its my friends car and i dont know where he got his motorset. its not in the best shape either. when researching this swap i found that the 2jz will go into lots of cars and the wireing is not that difficult. just a matter of lengthining harness and stuff.

Just do the The 1JZ thats what was in the soarer anyway. Cheaper and can make good power. Get a soarer clip and bolt it all in. Or get the sc300 with the NA 2jz and the rebuild it with the GTE internals then turbo it. Cheaper than that plase in texas thatsswaps the GTE in for like 11-15000. My frien is about to do the same project you are talking about and has done allot of research and will either be building the NA like I said or saying screw it and going an RB S14.

The 2JZ-GE gets no love at all. Just like the KA. Just turbo that sonb.itch.

Go with what you got for once!

I would also check out supraforums.com.If you can find a motor a standalone ecu would be the best option as well cause the stock ecu setup is very tricky when modding them especially when you go from auto to manual. also the 1 jz might be a good alternative= as well. any way here is a pic of one for you.meggala

the guys a supraforums have a special thread for turboing the n./a motor they make some pretty good power from them

One name comes to mind: CLINT  If you don't know who Clint is, you'll discover it as you search for sources and information. .
