just your best guess.. I know the RB25, RB26, and 2jz have been done- not sure on the 1jz. But assuming the toyota motors can be swapped in easily, which motor responds the best to simple mods- or in other words easiest and/or least expensive to hit ~500hp.

an aussie put a 1jz in his S13 silvia, sacrilege  i'd recommend the larger motors for this output but i don't know much about upgrading toyotas.

2JZ responds really well to simple mods, and its quite possible to get 450hp on stock turbos. Mind you its also possible to get over 400hp from stock turbos on a RB26 and thats nissan power!

do you have a write up on the 2jz swap into a 240? or do you have a site?

I'm assuming you're asking Redline240 on that one.. the only one on these boards that I recall was considering a 2jz swap was Cyris3d and I remember reading Meggala was considering doing a 1jz swap. However, a search on Google came up with at least some shops that say they could do it ($$$$$) or have done it.

how much would it cost to buy the stock rb26 stock internals? seems pretty cost effective though I don't think I could build the engine myself.. I suppose the toyota engines would require custom mounts? Is the 2jz about the same measurements as the RB26? Wouldn't want to throw off the car's balance or anything..
