2JZ or not

V8 240sx? Sure! If either the chassis OR the engine is non-Nissan (i.e. SR20 in an RX-7 or LS1 in a 240sx), we've done it.

Welcome to the club noob. Its a 2JZ swap and yes it can be done. Scroll all the way to the top of the page, next to the Profile link theres another link. It reads, SEARCH click on it and then type in 2Jz swap, or what ever question you have about anything before you make a thread like this. Glad I could help.

As many of us will say, Yes it is wrong of you to want to put a toyota motor in a nissan. But it's your car not ours so you do with it what you please. I guess I'm the only one who acually got what it was you were asking. Unlike others, I can comprehend your question.

imo, the money spent to drop in a 2jz isn't even worth it... all that fab work to get the exhausting to the right side, plus the custom mounts n all... all for 300hp? Yeah, it can be street legalized, but once you decide to go single turbo and up the boost, that legality gets thrown out the window.

street legal ls1 or go home, lol.

anyways, I'm moving this to hybrids.

2j swap costs roughly the same as sr swap + the extras needed to put down the same amount of power

Two things:

1)

There's your 2JZ swap (that even has 'Nas').

2) Technically, there is no 'street legal' 2JZ, LS1, or any other swap. If I get around to digging up the link, I'll post it later, but there is a stipulation from the NHTSA (or may the EPA) that states you can only legally replace your motor with one from the same vehicle of the same year or newer (with all emissions gear intact). That means KAs for 240 types. And that, like the Skyline/GT-R importation thing, is federal. Does that mean you can't get away with it for the life of the vehicle? Not at all.
