just bought a 93 s13 fastback with no engine or transmission for 300.00, i have the option of buying a 2jz-tt or a LS1 out of a 99 z28 both cost 4000.00 complete front end, so which should i get? i know a supratt will do the quarter in 13.7 stock ,the lsi will doit at 13.2 stock but both these cars weigh roughly 3500lbs as compared to my 2458 any help would be appreciated.

Swapping either of those into your car is damned near impossible. You would need thousands upon thousands of dollars, worlds of experience, and you can't get any 2JZ front clip for $400, or an LS1 for $400.

Me, an idiot???? Youw ant to swap in a TOTALLY ridiculous engine into a chassis that is not built for it at all, when you could PLAINLY get a just-as-powerful Nissan engine that peopel have actually put into our cars before for that kind of money. Have you EVER tried to swap an engine? Do you have ANY idea the complications, hassles, wiring issues, fitment issues, bracing issues, driveline issues, taht would go with either of those swaps? Apparently not, if you were even considering them.

"You don't care about money", so you have an unlimited supply? And if you have done "many engine swaps", why do you need anyoen else's opinion? I could write you a page on "LS1 vs. 2JZ", but you shouldn't need that if you know all this. Next, an engine alone will do nothing in the quarter mile. Those numbers are very useless seeing as how the LS1 and 2JZ were in totally different cars respectively, which will change the quarter mile results respectively. Your car wouldn't weigh anythign close to 3500 lbs, and your car doesn't wegh 2458 now either! Your car weighs about 2900 lbs at the moment, go look on your doorsill. None of those engines weigh 600 lbs. more than a KA, maybe 100-200. You need to do WAY more research. And why did you post in TurboKA, as this has NOTHING to do with that.

Dude...you don't want to go with the Boeing swap. I've heard the Concorde has VTEC!

Besides, I know some dude who wants to get rid of one.

Why not just get an RB engine? Thatll give you a good 1000hp with your unlimited supply of money. Also, maybe a honda hybrid engine is a second idea? Thatd be pretty damn different

Im confused about this ulluse guy.

Suppsedly he has an RB26DETT powered subaru that runs 9.18@143 http://www.nissaninfiniticlub....11544

But here he says he only has a 93 colt, 84 BMW and 79 mustang and knows jack sh*t about turbos

http://www.nissaninfiniticlub....25370

Yet, here is making boost recommendations:http://www.nissaninfiniticlub....25365

Has a 90 S13 that runs 15.7@91 BONE STOCKhttp://www.nissaninfiniticlub....49636

Also he works on cars for a living, yet cant remove a brake booster.

Im so confused

Easy fella's, he's just asking for opinions.

Drop in an LS1...standalone will be a grand or more....weld up some custom mounts...redo most of the drive line and get a nice driveshaft made for loads of torque. Your rear end will likely take crap on you if you modify the V8, but should be ok with it in stock form.

Or give me your car and all that money and I'll have your car running 10's and still be able to hit the road courses. Cause your looking at 10,000 or close to it, depends on how much work you need to have done for you. Aries would be the guy to ask really, since he already has a 350 in his S14. He knows all the details, I'm simply guessing...

wow maybe you guys whould take it easy!!!

if he has the time and money to swap in a 2jz, or an ls1 or a 13B or whatever the hell he wants to go, why do u gotta be so negative towards him

yes it would be a lot of custom work and money, and a pain in the ***, but if he were to swap a 2jz into his car i think that it would be pretty amazing, i've only heard of one other 2jz powered 240

funny how you all flame this guy, but consider Aries a god, even though he essentially did the exact same thing

You dont unserstand what Im saying. Search his name and look at the threads hes posted in. In one thread he says that he is buying a supercharger for 1000 dollars for his 240. Another thread he says hes going to turbo his 90 SX. Another one says hes bough a Nissan truck engine that he wants to put in his 90 SX. Another one says he aquired a BMW and he wants to put that engine in his 240. He says he works on cars as a job, but he cant remove a brake booster.

I dont think hes going to put either of these engines in his car. It seems to be pretty jam packed already.

Who gives a **** if he asked alot of dumb questions. Some people actually spend alot of time on here trying to learn or explore possibilities. Last time I checked, I never thought of any of the flamers on this post as authorites on motor swaps either. What I DO see is alot of the same guys on here everyday trying to act like they know everything about everything concerned with nissans or other cars in general. If you dont have the patience to answer someones question, the shut the hell up and move on to another thread. And until someone like aeris has done what this guys askin, dont run your mouth. Try doin all the crap you guys recommend to people more often and doin less gum-flappin. And one last thing-its pretty pathetic to do a search for someones thread posts just to discredit what they have to say-get a ****in life.

A) I only searched because I am involved with another post with him right now where he says he has a supercharger for the 240SX.

B) Who said they know everything about everything? I myself have spent the last few weeks reading books on car performance, turbos, etc. Not asking random questions like "can I put a BMW engine in a 240." I use "the little red botton at the top of the page" like I was told too long ago. Anyone who has done the littlest research on the subject would know how hard it would be to do any of these.

C) He is lying. I wouldnt flame him if he wasnt lying. But if he "works on cars for a living" he would know a thing or 2 about putting engines into cars.

D) AND FOR THE FINAL TIME. IF YOU HAVE MONEY YOU CAN PUT ANY ENGINE INTO A CAR. THIS IS THE "TURBO KA" FORUM, NOT THE LS1 FORUM

If you were smart and logical you would have gone about this in a better fashion, period. I pass judgement because what I say is logical and worthwhile. If you ask a question like you asked in the first place, you need to qualify it by explaining that you do know the difficulties, etc, and just want an opinion on the strengths and weaknesses of each. Too many people blow through and say "X engine in Y car" and have NO IDEA about the difficulties invovled. If you knew as much as you say you do, you wouldn't need other opinions, it's not like it's an aesthetical or subjective piece of work here. This is the realm of numbers and facts, not subjective opinion.

i wasnt calling you a liar because of the supercharger kit, but the 9sec subaru and 15.1 in the bone stock SOHC sound fishy. I drove the hell out of my bone stock gutted DOHC and the best i could do was a 15.7 and i know the car isnt hiding a half a second from me. With a diff and slicks, i MIGHT have been able to pull off a 15.4 or something.

So really what is up with the subaru, did somebody use your account or something? Im sure the mods could check out what IP was used when the message was posted. In the post about your SOHC, it looked as if you were adding to this 'phantom post'.

It just seems odd that you really dont seem to know your stuff (and were off by about 500lbs on your own car's weight) and you come out of the blue with some really odd engine choices, and if you know so much about cars/engines, why are you asking a bunch of people on the net?

Also, your profile says Occupation:p0rn star...

um....nevermind, i dont even want to know :boink :boink

It offended me personally when you called trpower an idiot for misreading your post. A simple "its 4000 not 400" would have suficed. When you go around saying you have swapped engines before and you know about cars, be prepared to be flamed for saying that. Thats up there with asking "if i can get NOS how fast will that make me?"

You didnt ask which engine wed put in our car. You said you "just bought a 93 fastback" and you want to know what engine you should get. This is the turbo ka forum. A forum to talk about turboing a ka.

And by all means, give us pics of your ka24e, turbo/supercharged, and 2jz powered 240. Dont send them to the mod. Post them yourself.
