Try looking through the build threads here to get an idea of a project you think you can handle.

2jz swap is one of the more pricey and difficult ones...

Most places that can sell you a 2JZGTE can also supply you with a R154 (5spd) transmission at an additional cost. just call them up see what they can do for you.

the price of doing a 2JZGTE has really gone down in the last 2 or 3 years, when i first started it, there was little to no information or parts for it. just 1 company and they charged way to much so you had to pay to play. now a days there are a ton of people making mounts for them and all the hard work has been done and sorted out by all the founders of the swap.

if you have any questions post'em up.

hope you have some deep pockets brotha..id say 10k should cut it. heck my friend had a nice 2jz setup with 6sp that he was willing to sell for 6500 with harness that was spliced for a 240. couldnt justify 10k so i did a built sr20. just the motor mount kit alone is over 1500!!! good luck either way bud

this is a list i made up for a friend who was considering doing a JZ-S-chassis

2JZGTE Aristo - $1800 shipped - Zerolift
MyJZswap mount kit - $1400 - MyJZswap
MyJZswap wiring kit - $650 - MyJZswap (shows it’s $500 but you’ll never get it done for that price.
R154 trans - $500 - used
Apexi safc - $200 - used
2JZGTE T4 manifold - $200 - Ebay *Must get manifold modified tobe good brace/slag*
Tial 44mm wastegate - $315 - Ebay *Must get manifold modified to run Tial wastegate*
Tial blow off valve - $260 - Ebay *Make sure to get REAL Tial stuff*
3” Intercooler piping - $100 - Ebay *You could do 2.5” but for the little more 3” is might as well*
FMIC (32x12x3) - $110 - Ebay *make sure you get same size as piping*
Precision 6262 .68A/r - $900 - Sound Performane *this might be a little small,fast spool*
CXracing 3” downpipe - $70 - Ebay
Walbro 255 fuel pump - $80 - Import Image
Koyo radiator - $300 - Anywhere *You will NEED a good radiator*
OEM waterpump - $143 - Myjzswap.com
OEM timing belt - $27 - Myjzswap.com
OEM serp belt - $33 - Myjzswap.com
OEM thermostat - $15 - Myjzswap.com
aluminum pulleys - $94 - Ebay - Myjzswap.com
Dakota digitial tach and speedo interface - $160 - Dakota digital
Dakota digital magnetic pickup - $30

$7387

things no one mentions.
- You need to redo the gas lines from the passenger side to the drivers so figure another $30
unless you have a small battery you’ll need to relocate it to the trunk $100
- You will NEED gauges figure at least: Boost, watertemp, oil temp, oil pressure $150-$500 depending on what gauges you want
- It would be very smart to do an oil cooler, since these things run very warm $200 if you make your own kit or spend $400+ on a assembled kit
- At 450whp you will NEED a differant clutch, alot of people run the ACT Xtreme clutch kit rated @632tq. $605

keep in mind, this is all a very basic setup. your Fuel will be maxing out VERY quick! i would look into ATLEAST stock usdm 550cc injectors over the 440cc injectors. but even those will get tired fast! and with too much power those factory lines are gonna get way small in a hurry. a USDM 550cc injector w/rail and stock fpr is about $200 used. or you can upgrade but you’ll pass $1200 by the time you get all the fuel s*** including lines that you will need.

if the car doesn’t come with a factory LSD you will need one, and those go from anywhere from $200 for a stocker up to $1300 for a good aftermarket one.

One of the “mistakes” i made car was having all the power, and thinking a slotted rotor and decent pad would still be ok, well it’s not make sure you get a GOOD rotor/pad combo ATLEAST if not look up a 300ZX brake upgrade or a Q45. those range from $200-$600

Stock suspension seems to work best for drag racing, but megans seem to work very well to, so if you want a coilover look at spending another $800-1200 and if you get coilovers you’ll need Rear upper control arms (RUCA) and those are about $150-$300 not to mention replacing bad bushings and various arms that could be replaced.

I didn’t put a exhaust on the list either, those range from $300-$1500 depending what you want, or you could just run a open downpipe if you want.

i also didn’t add up the coolant, oil, oil filter, gear lube, clamps, hoses, etc that will add up to i’d think another $150-250

there is also no boost controller or turbo timer on this list so add another $150-$250 for that easy.

s*** no one tells ya - could go anywhere from $5,180 up to $6,350 and that’s on top of the “basic” get it running total of $7,387

so figure $12K-$15K if you want a well rounded car, if you wanna go fast in a straight line cheap, you could most likely get it done closer to 8-10K

don't give up so easy, what are your goals? horsepower wise and what do you plan on doing with the car?

a few of my friends have built motor KA-T's and SR20's so they will make 400-500whp more then just a handful of times and be reliable with there car, and they have near the same amount as i do with a unopened 2JZ-GTE motor.

Awesome list ^

Are you running a V160 or R154? I know I've seen your build on here as well as Supraforums, but I don't remember.

IIRC, you swapped in the 2J with the stock twins first, then went single, right? For someone lookin to make 350ish + HP would you recommend keeping the stock twins, or going single? I know maintenance/fitment is much easier on a single, just wondering if the added upfront cost is worth it for closer to stock power goals.

i actually have the A340e Automatic. Which is why my list of what needs to be done to have a 5/6spd JZ S-chassis car might be a bit incomplete do to me not having alot of experience in that.

And yes, i had the car on stock USDM twin turbos then i went single after the usdm turbos died. :inoutgay: I ran about 18-19psi on the stock twins for a few months, truth be told it was alot of fun, boost seemed to be there whenever you wanted it, but it just didn't pull as hard as i expected it to, the car on 18psi on a s*** a** tune made 330whp. which would have been 350whp if not more in a 5spd/6spd car easy. that was with a very simple setup, USDM Supra camshafts, USDM Supra Turbochargers, USDM 550cc injectors, 3" turbo back exhaust, 2.5" intercooler piping and a "normal" sized intercooler and a Apexi safc neo. so about $2000 in mods the car made 330whp which isn't bad, once the stockers blew i picked up a Precision 6265 .68A/r Turbo from Sound Performance, a Tial 38mm wastegate, Treadstone cast manifold, and a new CXracing 3" V-band down pipe,as well as some heat wrap and the nessacary oil feed/return lines. i'm in less then $1800 doing a single turbo, which led the car to making 408 whp while hitting fuel cut. Which is funny cause the car doesn't hit the cut on the street, just on the dyno? still haven't taken the car to the track, but from a 15mph roll i was about 1 1/2 cars ahead of a 11.2 second Evo 8. so its gotta be a low low 11 second high 10 second car on 15psi. Over this winter i have ditched the safc neo in favor of a Mapecu 2, and i am getting rid of the factory usdm fuel system and going with a custom fuel system i put together which will be good to over 800whp. if i could do it all over again i would just go "big" from the get go, it's much cheaper that way.
