Hello, im pretty new to the forum and i have a lovely 1981 280zx. I am planning on dumping ALOT of money on it so that i can make her not only beautiful but fierce. However, i do not want an engine swap i want everything strictly l28. Is there any sites i can go to for parts? Any ideas would also be VERY MUCH appreciated.

BTW my goal is around 400-500hp if its possible with an l28

Yeah wait for Evilkdy, he's a Zgod... But what Dtsn280zx was saying about rebuilding a L28ET is really the way to go if you want that kind of real power out of your car.

There's not that much you'll have to change since they're both L28's. though you could get a 3.1L L28ET stroker w/ upgraded innards that will produce some scary power, but not at a cheap price. I guess it all depends on how fat your wallet is. Anything is possible with enough cash, or at least enough time and Ebay... Phar

I've seen a couple stroked out L28's making 337hp, which will be fast in the light s-chassis cars.

yup, stroked n/a's top out around 330 whp and thats a $10k engine build, witht he turbo you can easilly make more power for half the cost, and no there are no new blocks that I am aware of, just get a good used block, stroker crank, and open your walet

I don't mean to just butt in here, but I have an'82 280zx with good inline 6 engine, auto trany, and glass but is too rusty for my limited body skills. shoot me an offer. Clear title and I just want to dump it and move on to my next project.
