Hey everyone Im new to this forum. I love my newly found Datsun and have been in love with speed and power due to my two Rx7s in the past. Ive got a 1983 280ZX 2+2 and I was thinking about building it to drift car specs. Does anybody have any Ideas and or setups that you guys have found to work. I was thinking about a set of Tokico Illuminas and set of Eibach Sport Springs. A set of SP Sway bars and a set of 15x8 wheels in the front and 15x10 in the rear. The hard part about it is, I dont know what 280s were offered with an LSD and what the difference between the Turbo motor and Drivetrain compaired to the N/A setup that I have got. What would be the best power addatives and handling or Sliding suspension setups.... Any Input or Ideas would help. Thanks guys.

-Mitch

I'm not sure about suspension options, but your best way to get more power would probably be to get an L28ET (the stock 280ZX turbo motor) swapped in. By best, I mean more than likely the most cost efficient, unless you want to put a small block Chevy or Ford in it.

No 280zx had lsd, however the clsd out of the 5/87 to 89 300zx turbos fit.The only differences between the 280zx turbo and n/a motors is the pistons and turbo hardware. Transmissions are the same I believe.Check out the classic z forum.

Does anybody know where I can get a set of floor pans for my 280zx 2+2? I also need a pair of front fenders and a drivers rocker panel? Ive looked through tons of websites, just curious if anybody has had better luck than I. Thanks

if you want to drift it, just weld the diff, the semitrailing rear suspension makes spring choices more limited, or you get dreative, for the floor pans, zedd findings, the other sheet metal I's say VB(aka: black dragon) or MSA (zcarparts.com) your local body panel supply shop should have fenders

I think the 79-80 got the R180 and the 81-83 got the R200
