i have a friend who has a 280z that's sitting. the thing is the body is no where near fixable but the motor still runs. he said he will give me the car if i want it. i have a 91 coupe 240sx and was wondering if anyone has ever done a swap? oh the 280 is turbo too. just wanted to get some opinions. i probably wont even take the car but just thought i would get some info just in case.

That's technically illegal to put an engine into a car that is older than the car. Then again most SR swaps aren't street-legal either.

on guam its easy to pass emissions. i know a couple of people that can "fix it" hear. its like $15-$20. there are also a couple of sr's here. i think like 5 or 6 that i know of and one ka-t. there might be more just never seen them break out. and like 3 or 4 skylines and some other jdm cars. guam is very small. i know the're sr's in paulau. might be super cheap check it out.

there are no emissions testing on guam. you should do the swap, it would probablhy be fun to drive(lots of torque).

Geez, I didn't even notice [oo]gang is in guam. Do it, it sounds like it could be a fun swap.

The head on the L-series really blows (2v/c side-flow... ewww). Other than that, it's fine.

No sh%t not to mention it is hemispherical instead of pentroof. Just the fact that it isn't a crossflow head either atomizing fuel to air sucks. KA engine is far superior to the old Lseries. Unless you plan to dump $100's into head work I wouldn't do it....... Plus finding parts these days are a b$tch.
