nice~!!! but why is the diameter so big? is there an advantage in makin the final drive ratio taht much taller in your drag car? ( traction, top speed purposes? )

The more sidwall you have, the better grip/flex you get with the tire. I'm sure that he has planned out the final drive/gearing with his car. You always want to finish in the high RPMs without having to switch to the next gear when you go through the traps.

Looks gay, I hate it. You should just get rid of those lame rims and tires......I'll take them off your hands only cause I'm such a close friend.

Hope those tires dont puff up ... your fenders and rear bumper are going to hate you lol.

The best S14's in the god damn world are maroon and I'll kill anyone that says otherwise.

One other thing: Have you taken into account the 2" expansion that will happen at 110-120 mph?

It looks like in the pic Ivan, that the tires stick out a bit from the rear fender. Only thing I'd be worried about is the tires rubbing on that fender. Those tires can grow as much as 3" in height when you go down the track, depending on your speed (nevermind, your not going that fast ). Keep an eye on that on your shakedown runs, I'd hate to see that paint/tires get messed up. Other than that, the car looks sick and I can't wait till you get it to the track. Make sure you video the spectators faces when they see this "truck" engine post up some crazy numbers

Burgandy is the best....I agree. Especially when mixed with WD's Custom, Blood Candy Wine. My buddy at the paint shop is mixing some really awsome colors. At a cheap price to...only 1200 for the paint....ok I was shocked to.

To answer some questions.

The tire is that diameter for several reasons.

Final drive of the 240 is numerically high which limits top speed. The 28" tall tire will allow me to reach the MPH I am shooting for without going into OD.

Taller tire means more sidewall flex which increases traction.

Taller tire = more foot print at same pressure = more traction

WD, I sent a clutch out to Greg today. He should have it tomorrow by noon. There is something in that box for you. Trust me, its better then tires

Tire growth on a radial is not much. The tires are within the wheel well and when the car squats, the camber change will tuck them in further. If the tires do grow, they will also get more narrow. I dont forsee a fender rubbing issue. I have about 3" of suspension travel prior to the rear tires hitting the top of the wheel well.

I am really looking forward to getting this car up and running...

ivan - i also want to know the backspacing of the rims. i have 2 28x10x15 i got from a friends dad jsut for kicks. if i can make them fit that would be awesome. im gonna be lowered on eibach sportlines (little less than an 1.5" in the back) by next week.

also saw a set of 15x10's on ebay with a 7" backspacing pretty cheap.
