Will 265 on the rear, in a 1994Q45t rub or otherwise be incompatible with ym suspension geometry?

I currently have 255's...

Hmm, not sure how much it helps, but I've got 245/45/17's with no rubbing issues on my non-t 94 (stock height). Someone break out the calculator and see how much bigger (dia & widths) the bigger tire would be?

The diameter would be very nearly same.http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.htmlThe width would be 265mm.

Measure the rim width, then measure from each side to the hub mounting surface. The offset is the displacement from wheel centerline of the mounting surface, positive displaced to the outside, negative to the inside. Stock is 35mm positive.

Okay, took a long straight edge (like a T square) and placed it across the outer edge of the tire and "projected" it to the wheel well inner edge. :shocked Better not take the Fat Boys on their next tour. I don't THINK the body can sit down enough to be an issue, but I'd say 235 or 245 is on the upper end of the width range.

Of course, I'm not even thinking about the front wheel inside rub during a full lock turn. Maybe, that's the bigger issue?

What size are ya rollin' on now?

Okay, I knew I'd find it somewhere.

Now, if somehow we can figure out how to get in touch with him, we could find out if he's having any "rubbing" (tires that is) issues.

stock is +45. i have +40 17" with 255/50-17 in back (1" taller than stock). no rubs with eibach or stock springs. looks like a muscle car with stock spring in back, eibach in front with stock diameter tires. i think 275 would fit, depending on offset and as long as you don't carry a lot of extra weight in back.

The diameter of the 275-35-18 would be same as stock so it would be no taller.Just rubbing I am worries about.Am rolling on 255/35-18 on rear, right now. (I know too little load rating)

Oh, that's right, you had the white one and it's .... no more.

How did I not realize you own the B.A.D. Q?

Hmm, gotta figure a way to be at the Indy meet.

Bling - Bling! Beware of the pop-ups.

Those anchors must weigh 45 lbs. each, without the tires.

I have been running 18's for some time and have burned 2 sets of Yoko AVS tires and I am now on Pilot sports.

Yokos were 245/40ZR-18's and they stuck like glue but wore out like race tires. The Pilots are lasting much longer. 245/45ZR-18 in front and 255/45ZR-18 rear. I am going to change the rears for 275/45ZR-18's and they will fit (I tested). The fronts are a different story because they rub on lock-to-lock cranks with anything much wider than what I have been running. I have found that the problem is increased by the fact that different manufacturers will have slightly different OD's and width measurements given the exact same numbers. So a 245 Pilot will be slightly different than a 245 Yoko AVS. I am not a tire expert, but I have burned more time and money trying to get the right combo. I know that Steve millen of Stillen used to have a 97-98 Q as a daily driver. He was running 19's although I like my 18's. Does anyone have any real tech spec limitations for the fronts?

No advice on the tire width here but the "dubsplus" site has more funny pictures than "mulletsgalore" does.
