Needing a water pump and putting off finding it till my day off I find my self about to go to dealership for a part.

1st Dealership 134.99 instock2nd called Autozone 69.00 New No-Name (SP order)3rd Called Checker 74.30 New Arnell or ( who cares ) (SP order)

4th PEPBOYS 261.00 New bosch with a 70.00 core charge (on a new part?) That would be

331.00 to leave there with a new water pump.

Thinking the girl just came back from smoking a big bowl of CRACK I called another store in town and the same. WTF???

I'm gonna go buy one from the dealer I guess.

Joe is a better bet, and close to you. They are a sponsor also.

EDIT: Wrong link to Joe and the gang.

http://www.everythinginfiniti.com is correct for free shipping.

Tell him you're from NICO and they'll hook you up with free shipping too (through the 20th). OEM for less than $100 I think.

I did mine for a total of about $115 in December that included from Joe $95 water pump, $5 RTV, and $10 of coolant plus an hour of my personal labor which was really easy to swap.

You have to say you're from NICO and that you want the free shipping offer to get it. It's important to let them know that their sponsorship is coming back to them by saying you're from NICO. Joe is the manager, but there are other guys there helping him out, like Ralph and Dan. 1-888-216-5328 is parts dept #.

I need to order today or tomorrow.

How much?

I don't have time for email-tag.

I'm down ASAP

I live in the hot dryass of state New Mexico.

She is starting to reach the high part of the normal range on the temp gauge if I sit in traffic with the A\C on high.

And I saw the weeping hole crying out to me.

I'm ready like yesterday.

Thanks...Ev_eezy...

Please change that quote from a water pump to a fuel pump!!!

(I had a friend that owed me an extra 40.00 so I had him pick one up from the dealer today.)

And send it to [email protected]

I noticed the buzzing coming from the fuel pump for the last 6 month.

I thought it would last a bit longer.

I think it might be time.

Does the Q45 have a thermal cut off?

I was driving around today and she was getting hot about 3\4 the way up.I pulled off the freeway to get some drinks to take home and went back out to start the car and she started fine. Put it in reverse and backed up.Started to go FWD and had NO power!

The gauges we normal except the Temp it was almost to the redline so I pulled over ASAP and she stalled pulling in to the parking lot.

So I popped open the trunk and used my remote starter to start it .... I could hear the pump it was really loud.

The plastic rear trunk liner is still not installed I just installed the new Active CPU and am receiving my Active Controller later this week (so I have easy access to the pump).

It would not start for the whole hour it took AAA to come with the flatbed. We got it home and she started right up like nothing ever happened...

Could she have just been flooded?Vapor Locked? (I have a half tank of Shell V-Power 91+)If a pump dies is it dead? Or can it fade in and out?

I had a 1993 Q45 (Base) a few years ago...It had the sending unit go out and I took it to the dealer they replaced thePUMP, Relays, Filters, FPCU for the total of 1400.00

It still died on me after all that and the dealer said we didn't change out the sending unit because "They don't go bad".

So I took a look back there and saw the yellow connector was coming off the sending unit... WTF I paid 1400 dollars and would have paid 150.00 more but they didn't offer the sending unit as part of the solution with the diagnostic I paid for they should have tested it. 2 hour Diagnostic @ 167.43.This is an OK price if they find the REAL issue...

Anyway can you flood the Q?Can heat play a part in keeping the engine from starting?

1. definitely get the oem waterpump. make sure it is #21010-67U28. I paid $93.75 from a sponsor. besides the usual concerns, aftermarket may trip you up in the fact that the 90-93 has a shorter snout than 94-96[but will bolt right up thankyouverymuch]. before the flames begin, i'll just say that a -60u27 pump was somehow shipped to me

2. i just paid $229.63 for a fp and 5.36 for the o-ring [relay is 13.40, btw]. haven't installed any of it yet, waiting for tank to burndown. if you can't get it right away , let me know and we can work something out.

3. also: re: the other post on fpcu, yes...$25, shipping and you core [provided it's not completely burned up]. the ground pin was darkened at the connector interface, and one power transistor was melted. Both power transistors replaced, along with a cap that had lifted. i've been running the rebuilt for 6 weeks and ~750 miles [was away for 2 weeks] with no hiccups. doesn't even get particularly warm.

it's ironic, because all these things [active issues, fp, and wp] have hit my 94a almost coincident with yours.

let me know how i can help.

PS- i admire your courage to wait for the flatbed. not worth losing your engine.

Does that mean the belt isn't perfectly lined up between the pump and the crank pulley/tensioner?

Well talk... I might still find my OLD - NEW one.

I bought for my 1993 base Q a while back.

I swaped it out when I sold it after she spun out @ 80ish and was going backwards along the wall of each side the highway... Only like 6,000 in body work(she's a tank) ask my friends that were there...

Here's a Quote from Chris Garcia

"It was like watching a move in slow-mo" Can we watch it again?"

Sold her to the bodyman as a matter of fact.He had never seen a RWD JP VVT V8 he WAS a honda man..

I really do need a lot of parts I got the OEM Water Pump, OEM Fuel Pump and OEM Alternator from Albuquerque's Garcia Infiniti

It was spendy!

I just didn't have time to wait I called and they said they would get you and after 6 mins of waiting I hung up.. (I would recommend you check in with customers on hold )

I needed the parts like the day before.I do wish I could have waited for your parts.

Your prices are 2nd to none.

At the time money was worth less then time.

I do need a complete suspension bushing kit for a 94 Active Q45and a under plenum hose kit and alot of other OEM only parts should I send you a list?

Joe is pretty much upper management now and only takes calls as a favor to NICO board members and the few times he isn't too busy to pick up spontaneously.

Sometimes I gleen moments of GREAT wisdom: from posts.

"that's how the 900 numbers get ya"............sweet seductive voices and that's all. Free candy, cookies, and soda for the best producers. You constantly reward them with a sweet treat for production [keeping the client on the line].

Internet video phone would not work [unless you used a computer generated face - body]..........

In a previous life had a giant call out sales center [as opposed to an "out call service" and invested in a porno 900 service [early 90's] ====== not at the same time! I missed a great opportunity in not merging the two.

Not mechanical in nature but useful for newbies, never the less.

I understand it not an issue at all I think he treats ALL people fair and give us a little bit better deal.

I ment no disrespect to Joe "check in with customers" .

I would think at a place that sells 50,000.00+ Infiniti's the person that placed you on hold would at least say... anything.... like maybe "It will just be one min." or "Is there anything I or anyone else can help you with?".

I would have bought parts form Joe if I had even one more day but I had to have her back on the road ASAP.

Even if I paid for one day and it still would have been WAY cheaper.

I still need lots of OEM only parts.

I want to know the best way contact him or whom ever ... Email or Voice that form on the web site..

Calling up in get some new guy who has know idea what I'm talking about and has to go and ask 3 people what NICO is and how much are parts for them seem to be the way that call was going if I called back.None the less I don't want to take apart my Q45a and start a major job like Plenum hose and end up missing a part or two.

Sorry if I was rude.
