Starting my 260z when cold is a good 15 mins.. I have to crank it until voltage drops, wait til it goes back up to 12-13 and crank again.. roughly have to do this 25 - 50 times until it fires up.. once running it runs like new, so i was just wondering what you think the problem could be?

stock carbs? it kinda sounds like all the fusl is leaking out of the fuel bowls and lines, most likely takes a while to get fuel back in the system, on earlier style carbs they are less complicated, might be a good idea to convert to earlier style round top's

ok thanks for your advice, i bought a set of 71 carbs about 2 months ago, for 20$.. paid 5x that for 2 rebuild kits, but still a good deal, so you think once i swap em in my problem should be gone?

sounds liek thats the problme, but kinda hard to diagnose over the interweb after it sits a while you can open the fuel bowls and see if they have any fuel in them, and yeah thats a steal on the roundtops, I sold my last set for $150 of course mine were good and had SU needles

the L26 has a long stroke and a small dimeter, it's got more torque than hp, I think they were rated at 150 using the old method, closer to 90hp at the wheel by todays standards, well tuned su's, header and mandrel bent exhaust, I'd exect around 100whp with a decent tune
