260z 4spd transmission problem

i have a 74 260z. it is very hard to get the car into first and reverse, and osmetimes 2nd, and 3rd too, when it does go into reverse it CLUNKS very loud, is my transmission hit? should i check the fluid? any input would help, thanks!

could be time for a new clutch, but check the hydrauilc fluid and bleed the system first to be sure, also doesn't hurt to check the oil in the trans, most likely you are just out of clutch
