I have gotten 25k for a law suit. There is a 93 300zx tt for 12k that i could mod or there is a 93 supra tt for 22k. I was wondering what would be a better buy. I love the 300zx body but alot of my friends say supra and im leaning towards it what yall think?

Hey, I am actually looking into buying a Auto TTZ32.for 9K, But if i had 25K to spend i'm not sure i would buy a Z32.if i did buy a Z32 i would try and find one that was relativly built cause you can usually find a built one for less then it would cost for you to build it!

But if i was gonna Spend 25K on a car here is my list as to what i would buy- BUILT Nissan 300ZX-TT (Z32)- Acura NSX - Toyota Supra TT- Built Mazda RX-7- Nissan Skyline (Sometimes there are ones floating around)

All in all i would just keep looking cause right now on Auto trader there are alot of NICE Z32's with high price tags. As well as a few "bpu" Supra's in that price range. As well as stock NSX's and i've recently seen quite modded FD RX-7's in that price area!

But at the end of the day it's YOUR CAR no one except you can make the descion. A Wise man once told me that when you are looking at buying a car look at yourself 1 year from now in the car. with the mods you have done to it. Do you like the choice you have made? Or would you of rather went with your 2nd or 3rd Choice!

Good luck and i can't wait to see what you get - Nick

300zx or supra tt....if you want a great drag car with less upgrading room based on your budget then go with the supra...the z32 makes a great road course car and both make great street monsters. you will probably find the z32 to be a bit lower in intitial price and a well modified one can absolutely be picked up around 15k and may only need some minor touch ups if that. I recommend investing the money for a couple of years and then getting something else, but thats just me.

as far as auto's go, companies are out there that make upgraded heavy duty auto trannies for both cars (i.e. SGP and level 10)

Modified Z32, there are plenty of them out there. Will be faster than a stock supra for much much less.

Why are the Supras SOOO over rated? Its like supra and a 300zx are almost equal but look at the price diffence? I mean the book value of the supra is about the same as the supra... but it seems they just want to hype it up soo much. I bet if the 300zx was in a "F&F" movie it will be about the same what do yall think?

Get the Supra. If you don't want to spend the time and effort to make your Z special, then go with the Supra. They cost less and they are not a purist car. All Z Owners have Z's because they love them. They are not cheap to maintain and they are not easy to work on. If you don't want to put in the time, find something besides the Z because to own it, is to love it.

I can get you clean skylines between $19k and $25k titled and registered. R32 GTRs or R33 GTSTs. LMK if you're interested. I've bought and owned one from the same guy already. No problems with transferring the title and registration to my state. I've owned a Supra TT, and my R33 GTST (unmodified) was more fun to drive than it, even though it was not as fast!

in my opionion a z is totally worth i picked my tt up for 8k and i love it i mean i have had more problems then any car has ever had lol but in the long run it was worth it i love my z and wouldnt trade it for anythingno supras, no rx-7's , no vr-4's nothing is better then the feeling of driving tt modded or unmoddedi mean right now im back on the stock boost and cant run it hardbut i still would rather drive my z then any other car my advice man ...BUY A TT Z ..and from personal experience with buying modded cars id go with a stock untouched one that some old guy from tucsan drove to and from work..because with modded cars there higher chance on a beating being put on it ...so find ur self a nice clean tt z (which u can find preety well priced) and if ur power hungry put your money into ...i mean it doesnt take much to have a 400hp z or shoot with the money u have it doesnt cost much to have 600hp z just buy a z forget the supra or anythingget a z its worth it i promise

Honestly if you want a car that has potential then you can’t go wrong with a Z or a Supra. Both of them are great cars in there own world, it just depends what world you want to find you’re self in.The Z is a great car, I’ve had mine for the past 5 years, drove it with the VG30DE motor for two, had it off the street for one and I am driving it with the LS1 for two years now and it’s a blast. You would have to pay me a lot of money to stop driving this car, and I mean a lot.The Supra is also a great car, I build a lot of them and have to say that it’s the easiest car to work/fix/build/mod. The 2J is a great motor and can make crazy horsepower. You have to remember one thing about both cars, they both are old, over 10 years, so they both will have problems, the question is how mechanically inclined you really are. The Z32 is definitely going to stretch you’re patience and if you are not careful, the Supra will stretch you’re patience too. Some of the others already mentioned, if you are going for the Z32 make sure you get one that ether was well taken care of and has no mods or get one from a good mechanic/shop that knows what they are doing with the car.For the supra, be aware of low mileage, I can’t count how many MK4 I have seen with the odometer disconnected. Don’t think that because you are paying 20k for a 10 year old car it guarantees the car to be in a good shape, most likely it will have problems, and don’t think that the high price stops with the car, no it continues with the parts too.Remember that the Z32 and MK4 where made to compete and they still do. The Z is hard to work on but the prices are good. The Supra on the other hand is easy to work on but expensive.

Here is an example of the latest supra I have built: Price tag of $60kCar will be featured in D Sport Mag. in the next few months.Good Luck…

If you want to go really fast in a straigt line, get the Supra. If you ever plan on turning get a Z. I know a few Supra owners. A couple of them since the 80s. The 80s Supras were great, but the new ones do not corner. He traded in his 89 for a 95 and he had it for 3 days before he returned it to the dealer and goit his 87 back. The Supra is a Japaneese Muscle car now. If you're looking to be one of thosew guys that floors it from light to light outrunning everything, but gets tailgated by underpowered cars around ther corners, get a Supra. I recomend the Z if you enjoy spirited cornering and good off the line acceleration. The Z is a well balanced vehilce. IMO the Supra is for drivers with more money than tallent.

Z32 ... but if I had $25k, I'd be looking for something custom, like a V8 swapped Z32 or even an s-chassis with a swapped V8 ... it could be a VH45DETT. There is at least one Z32 with one of those . Plenty of well maintained/built Z32's out there for the mid-upper teens. Save a few bucks for when something breaks.

Take the gun, leave the canoli

I am starting a Custom car design service if you would be interested. Fopr the $25,000 you could be driving a skyline swapped 240SX, or a well modded Z32 TT. Fees ranjge based on what you have me do. Services range from basic design all thew way to sourcing parts and hiring mechanics to build the car. I have 2 VERY reputable mechanics that do all my work. One is a retired Supergas draggster mech and the other is a retired Indy car Mech. Nothing but quailty here. I am just finishing a $30,000 240SX that all the owner had to do was sit down with me to design the car (over aim) and hand me cash. 9 months later he has a sweet custom 240SX with none of the work. Just something to consider.

Z32's are great and not as hard to work on (once you have it done correctly).EGR, Coolant by-pass, EBC,, doing all these removes tons of crap under your hoodAlso.. put the down-pipes on them make the not only faster but twice as easy to work on.If your looking at a Z around 15K it already had so many mods on it that it fills a page. There are now several running in the 9's and also driven on the street.......Greg Dupree ,, had his up for sale (Speacility Z)

Haha coming into a nissan forum asking which to get, the supra is gonna get reamed here. Not that I own either car right now. But the supras aren't overrated in any way really, there stock block are one of the most over built engine around. How many other engines out there will take the same amount of boost as a the later stock supra block?? There only a hand full that even come close. And yea it does come down to tuning but even on a level playing fieled not many other stock engines would easily handle well over 20psi and keep on truckin like the supra can. They do hav eallot of hype and that what makes them expensive these dyas for a nice one, but its not for nothin.

If you are seriously considering a Z and want a damn fast car right out of the blocks you could buy a cheap TT 300zx and take it to Z1motorsports (Z1motorsports.com) and they can deck it out for you. That is what I would do if I had the cash and didn't want to work on my ride. They basically give you the choice of packages with garaunteed dyno HP.

Not a promoter, but its damn nice to have that garauntee of 1000hp when you pay for it.

as long as you have a decent dd now ...

i'd invest also. in a couple of years time (or less if you are risky) you can definitely get a solid return on 25k$. then you could buy whatever you want and still have $ left over.

that said, i've always liked z32. but honestly i'd say keep your options more open and don't just jump on the first flashy car. i mean many cars (z33s, s cars, supras, s2k, rx7, mazdaspeed3, etc...) are all available for 25k$ish. personally, i'd probably go with a car that has a cheaper purchase price than a supra so you have more room to mod it.

INVEST! make your money work for you. and in a few years take the interest and profit you make from the 25k and build yourself a nice car. you sound like a kid with no foresight and just got way too much cash to handle.

Supra's are heavy and look awkward.

I'm a huge fan of MK4 Supra's but when the time came i chose the z32. Reason was i wanted a great all around vehicle, i didn't want to spend 22-25k on the car alone, and honestly if i had the chance to go back in time i definately would've kept my h22 accord and invested the 30k for a later downpayment on a house.

BUT, ask yourself... do you want to drive the car for your own pleasure, or drive it around to show it off?
