Will 255/70-16 general grabber at2 fit a 2003 se pathfinder. The tire dealer I'm buying tires from does not recommened the use of this size tire because it might rub the strut. Tire on the vehicle now is stock 255/65-16 amd I have about an inch clearance from the strut. Has anyone used the general grabber 255/70-16 with stock suspension without any problems or maybe a different brand in that same size without any problems Also can anyone give me an actual measurement of the the height of a 255/70-16 general grabber or another brand in that size. I know that a 255/70-16 should be 30.1 inches tall according to the tire conversion calculators, but every tire height I actually meassure seems to be about an inch less than what the tire size conversion calculator says it should be. Please help, need to buy tires in a few day to pass inspection. Thanks

I think you're safe with the 255 as far as coming in contact with the struts goes. If you were to go with a 265 then I think you might encounter problems.

I run them, good tires, they get a bit noisier as they do on.

I do have rubbing when reversing and turning the wheel all the way (common) and the lightly touch the fender when the suspension is compressed.

cool tires, I like them especially if you are going to use them on the trail or offroad.

I just got these last week, but, in the stock size. I was looking into the 255/70 for sheer vanity of a wider footprint, but, was concerned about change in mileage and speedo reading. However, I am pleasantly surprised how wide (about 8.25") the footprint is in the stock size. At least, in my perspective, it looks wider and the sidewalls look rounder than the Dueler H/T's I had before. Road noise is increased but I like it. Ride quality is good. Enjoy.
