255/45/18 03 g35x??

im about to purchase some after market wheels and am wondering what tire size to get. the 255/45 is 10.03 inches wide. will that be too wide? i do want a wide tire but the wheels are 18x8.5 with 35mm offset. will tires be too wide for wheels? also will it look dumb to have that wide of tire on front too? with the x i heard it's not good to use different size front and back. would be sweet to get a staggered set of wheels with different width tires. would that work??

Well, first things first: Ok, nowfor an 03 G35, you would want a 255/40R18. Or a 235/45R18. But if you want a wide tire, as in, the 255, you'll need to use a 40 profile, not 45. Front and rears need to be identical in diameter. Same size. Since its all wheel drive, different sizes will kill your driveline.

oh k yea i was on the tire size calculator and used the wrong stock tire size. oops! but closest would be a 265/40/18. this may be a dumb question. but would it be possible to remove the front d shaft and just have rwd for summer time when i would use these wheels? seems possible bc it is pretty much based on a truck 4wd setup. but i better make sure it's possible first. does anyone know?

no, disconnecting it is not an option. You just have to keep it.Dont forget to fix your other problem though. Unlike Toiota, theres no y in Infiniti.

what size of tires should i get if im planning on getting tein htech springs in the future. will i have rubbing issues with 265/40/18? after its lowered?
