300 mile road trip, all highway, average 35 MPH down, 65 MPH back, mileage 28.5. Half the way down was mostly stop-and-go, but I only got 1 MPG better than I do during my daily commute....

Ahem...

640 mile road trip over 3 days. Tank 1 consisted of a 250 mile first leg on day one, and 70 miles of a leg on day 2. Filled up middle day 2, did another 70 miles on the start of that tank, and did the remaining 250 on day 3.

Average for each of the 250 mile legs was 70 mph. Average for the 70 mile legs was 50.

30 MPG down, 34 back. Was carrying more cargo down than back.

My last 500 mile trip in one day was all 70-77mph, 100 miles in the mountains and the rest gently rolling "piedmont" of NC. Mileage was about the same as I usually get: 32mpg. (CVT)
