Alright guys I can't figure out whats wrong with my RB20DET swap. This is my last resort, or I might have some thoughts about selling the car.

I live in Traverse City, Michigan.

The problem is this:

The car cranks, has spark, fuel, and the timing is right. I'm really at a loss of what to do. I just hope that someone might want some money to help me fix this.

If any one can help me it would be apperciated,

Thanks,

Justin

hate to be a d!ck, but if it has spark, fuel, proper timing and compression, the engine runs. engines are pretty simple.

you are overlooking something.

how have you tested for spark and fuel?

need more info... Do you hear the fuel pump turn on? What fuel pressure are you getting? have you tried to spray carb cleaner in through the throttle body to give it a bit of a jumpstart? Is your battery putting out enough CCA's? Do you have the ECU start signal wired correctly? Is the TPS sensor and CAS working OK? What gap are your spark plugs? Are your coil packs working properly? Is he ECU throwing codes? have you reset the ECU?

just throwing out some ideas for you...

Check the injectors with a NOD light, you can get one from PEP BOYS, NAPA, ect. Check fuel pressure 38-43 psi. If you have spark and these work it should start..

unless the injectors are seized because they've sat too long without fuel...happened before on a swap i helped on.gave it a few good rapps on teh side with a screwdriver and the missfire went away, in this case the motor would run lol.

Alright guys sorry it took so long for me to post back. I have a brand new battery 850 CCA, The fuel pump turns on and primes. I've tried the fuel lines both ways. I just tested the CAS and i am not getting the right voltage from the plug that goes into the CAS so that is my problem I am hoping I just don't know how to fix it.

By the way I sent the wiring to takara motors when they were still a sponsered placed on here.

Thats all I have for now,

Thanks,

Justin

the number one rule of thumb for any nissan swap is check your maf and maf wiring. that was my problem. there was interference in the wiring and it wouldnt run correctly. check it.

Well, based on my knowlage, I thought that it would start without the MAF, but not be able to rev above 2,000 RPMs.

Sean, I'm thinking that I'm going to have to take you up on that warrenty, because I'm missing the so-called "Green Relays" that everyone is talking about. And I'm not getting the correct voltage to my crank-angle sensor. So, if you would like to get ahold of me, please call me at: 1-231-463-5782. (Justin)

Thanks

install these relays.

also, your fuel line: make sure the line with the filter isn't connected to the line with the fuel-pressure-regulator (FPR)

I don't have them and I don't see why i should have to when i paid takara motors to do it for me. So I will just get Sean to fix it i think there are a couple other things not right as well ( not his fault).

Thanks

Justin

Sorry to hijack with a question of my own, but I saw some people reply that you have to have green relays from the RB, I don't have any, and was getting ready to do the swap-any enlightenment out there?

Basically, If its a Nissan relay, and it fits in the socket, it will work. I pulled the two I needed out of the relay box that came with my motorset. I'm fairly sure there is a USDM equivalent - because it wouldnt make sense to have Nissan manufacture two different relays, when they are simple devices.

Usually when you get the rb swap they will give you 2 for the ecu in a little box or bag. But mine didnt so i just used two outa mine fuse box just to see if the car would start.

Just go to autozone. You can get the relay there. It's like $3-5Bring the old one with you or use one from a Maxima or Z32.It seems they all use the same one
