I'm helping out a member label his main harness and something stumped me. I am tracing/labeling the wires according to the diagram I have and the 8 step instructions. Basically I was doing the step 3-5. Problem is on step 4.

First of all, this seems like a virgin harness. Very weird that it only had 1 relay close to the ecu. The ignition relay is missing! The red wire from that relay is missing at the rb white plug. That red wire needs to be hooked up to the red wire from the KA white plug under the dash.

Has anyone come across a harness like this? And if so, what do you do about it?

For the other part of step 4: The B/R (ign switch) and Gy (injectors) wire is already connected close to the ecu wrapped in the bundle. That was how it came.

Series 2 engines have only 1 relay

You dont need to send power to the injectors from the ECU on the series 2 either

If you have no igniter on your motor you have series 2

If you have 2 plugs on the TPS you have series 2

Get ahold of me on AIM and I wil walk you through it all.

Thanks Jon. But MSG said he had a series 1. I will have to clarify with him on that. Hopefully he doesn't have the wrong harness. It will be awhile for him to install but we'll contact you then.

Thanks

ill also say yes, only 1 relay on a S2 engine.

just look for the igniter on the top of the coil pack cover plate, no igniter (but the 2 harness meet) series 2, igniter, series 1.
