248/248 cams

I was wondering about two things...

1) is there any way to tell if there 248 rather than 232 by looking at them? i dont have cams to compair too.

2) i tried searching but is there anyone with the dino results for the cam swap. i seen them a while ago and i cant find them. any links would be appreciated.

if came out of an S13 it's a 248, that's about it unless you can get a machine shop to mic it.

Given the way the questions was asked, I assumed it was a questions only concerning the DOHC. So you're right, 91-94 only. 89-90 SOHC engines not included.

OK. people missunderstood. I already have the cams and I bought them from a user. I was wondering if i can tell if they are the 232 cams or the 248 cams without taking the cams out of my car to compair. Also i know there is a shift in the powerband understandibly but does it shift to 3000, or 5000? i seen dynos once but i cant remember them. Iwas hoping someone had a link.

i beleive that with 248/248, you'll have high end power, with little loss of low end.This is only achieved with TWO exhaust cams from the s13. Not the intake and the exhaust from the s13. it has to be both exhaust from the s13.

so to go back, two exhaut cams will give you 248/248

since i'm thinking you bought an intake and exhaust cams from the s13, if you put them in your s14 (I'm assuming) then you would get 240/248.

stock s14 cams are 232/232
