Well I was making the old road trip back to school today when my baby rolled over 245,000 miles. :)

Which got me to wondering, how many miles do your Q's have on them with the original engines?

243k, original injectors and harness and CAS;guides done @102k.Valve cover resealed at 180k, new plenum hoses at 78k and 220k.

Good time to check real idle oil pressure HOT to see if it exceeds oem 14 psi minimum in drive at 650 rpm to evaluate your future oil specifications.......10w X....30,40,50 or inbetween!

I hope my J gets to 200k which im sure it will (currently at 149k). Do any of you have had rebuilt transmissions?

Man I guess Infiniti's are really bulletproof cars when you take care of them.

About the transmission's.Dennis aka Q45tech did an experiment with flushes/filter exhanges every 15k miles:His Q's transmission which is used <hard> in Atlanta and often he permits visiting club members to go WOT on a hill near to T3, well when he finally exchanged the transmission at 173k or so it was still running great.

He also uses MOBIL1 ATF + had a transmission cooler on it.

SO its amazing what good maintenace can do for longevity.

Fred...:)

92Q about 181K miles, maybe more? (odometer broken)

Engine rebuilt from chain guide failure at 130K with new left side valves, so mostly original engine.

Mr Aziz......

Why did you wait until 194k to do the guides? And what did the old ones look like when they were replaced?

hello natabout the guides .i think those guides lasted me that long because i was changing oil at every 1500miles.even sometime i used hear one of the chain salpping the cover but guides lasted 196k.there were few small pieces in the oil pan but not that bad.i think i was just lucky. My friend did his on 91Q at 130k few weeks ago and they were in pretty bad shape and he is not a aggressive driver.don't count on ur luck i have seen at least three Q in dealers service area with broken guides with less than 120k.

Thanks.... I had made the decision last year at 137k...not to do them....

Now at 148k....re-thinking the position a bit.....

My first word of advice is to get them done. My second word of advice is, if you don't get them done, then do not ever let off the gas suddenly from a high rev. That is, do not let the crankshaft decelerate too quickly.
