245 50 18 tires on 07 m35x

I have a chance to get a set of winter tires, the only problem is that the size is 245/50/18. My stock is 245/45/18, anybody know if there is enough clearance to put a taller tires on....Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I think this is close enough to work since the differences are fairly minimal (only a few millimeters taller), but I would strongly recommend to make sure that all four tires are the exact same size, approximate tread wear, etc.

The Atessa system is particularly sensitive to significant tire-mismatches front to back - you could damage it if not careful.

Thanks szhosain, all 4 tires are the same and brand new, the only thing I was worried about was that they are a bit taller and that might create some clearance problems.

You could try a fit, but I think you will be okay. The difference between a typical 245/45 tire and a typical 245/50 tire is about 1 cm in extra sidewall height.

In the 245/45 tire, the height of the sidewall is about 245 x 0.45 = 110 mm and in the 245/50, the height of the sidewall is about 245 x 0.50 = 122 mm.

Take a look at your existing tire and see if you have about 1cm of room for the tire (probably the closest point would be the inside edge of the front tires to the suspension component behind it).
