You could put the SR20 motor in the Zs glove box! I've seen the Jag V12 fit with no big modifications.

Besides, why would you want to make your Z go slower?

You can always do the infamous 350 small block V8 swap into the 240z, then you have the potential for some serious power.

why do you say that an SR20det would make a 240z go slower??? its a lot lighter of an engine and the market for parts on an sr20 are huge and they are easy to make power on...

They make almost any part you want for an L28 also, and you don't have to shop overseas to get them.

There is so much room in that engine bay that that almost anything will fit. I had a '72 with a 350 Chevy and changing plugs was a very easy job. The L28 is good for 250hp n/a, a ford 302 is light and narrow, a chevy gives torque you won't believe, it's all a matter of what you want. My '72 was kind of front heavy, though. It was kind of nice not to have all the nightmare electronics that the F/I engines require.

Hey Chuck,

You sound familiar. Have we met? Are you related to Barb and Bob Hanlon? We could have met through them, through any Z related activity, or through racing (Art Cross?).

Reggiegsd- Nope, I don't have any family here. My kids are all in SoFla. I know there are Hanlons here, but not my wing of the family. But, you know how the Irish are, tons of distant relatives.I was very active in SCCA and IMSA in the 80's and early 90's, but unfortunately not lately. Would love to get on another crew, though. I was pretty well known in IMSA as being a good pit cook. Lots of stories to tell. I crewed for Del Taylor, Kenny Bupp, Don Arpin, Kent Painter. Daytona, Sebring, Mosport, Watkins, others. e-mail me at [email protected]
