Looking for something to fill in the fenderwells a little better, but not get too crazy...

Considering the Sportmax 002 in 16x8 or 17x8, 0-offset... Which would be a better choice?

How about tire sizes?

did you get a 240? I know you mentioned it as a possibulity but never saw another post on it, the 8's are gonna be tights, I've heard that fender rolling is required, and the center bore on the sportmax might need to be chamfered to fir some of the S30 hubs

what do you intend to do with the car? if it's a weekend cruiser then 16's, the extra sidewall will make the ride much more comforatable, also there are more 16" tires available and they tend to cost less, if you intend to do any autocrossing or track events the 17's with their shorter sidewall so you'll get less sidewall flex out of non competition tires

I've seen 5zigen's on a '71 z, 17x8's in front and 17x9' rear, not to sure about the offset though, fenders are rolled front and rear, but not pulled.

I think the 17x8+0 would be a tight fit in the front, but would be ok in the rear, might have to put your roller to work. 17x9+35ish in the rear is what I have seen and there are no fitment issues. Not sure on the tire size...

Personally I think the panasports or konig rewinds in 16x7+7 look totally hot on a old school z...

Morrie, is that a local Z?

I like that fitment, would love to know exact specs (and whether it's running spacers).

Not feeling the FN's on that Z. With 5 lug he could've gone with way better wheels.

I'm going with 16x8 +0 Diamonds when I get wheels so I would as well like to see some pics of Z's with those sizes?

I think you should get them first though Greg cause you have more balls than I do when it comes to rolling fenders. lol

My '71 240Z already had Panasports on it. I looked at the Konigs for the 280Z but finally went with the Panasports. Alot of the 240Z in ITS race on Panasports. Very well made but you do pay more for them. I bought mine from Les @ Classic Datsun http://www.classicdatsun.com.

Yeah Greg, that is Andy's car. It is a '73 with a 500whp 7mgte. Andy knows more about Z cars than just about anyone...

As far as the "goes agains" (5zigens) when you are moving you can't tell what they are anyway, and they are light to boot.

The car still has the 215's on the front, and drag radials in the rear...

On my 73 240Z that I autocrossed/track use.

Fronts: 16x8.5 negative 6 offset 225/50/16 Hoosier A032R

Rears: 16x9 negative 13 offset 245/45/16 Hoosier A032R

Wheels are Watanabe.

I was using ZG flares and had to cut the lip off of the rear fenders. Lowering springs that had one coil removed.

You can run 17x9's under the rear fenders w/coilovers. 9.5's in the rear are close.

Pic of Z with stock wheels/flares and 16's listed above with flares.

Good Luck,Brian
