yes, it has been done, I would neer do it or even suggest it, if you want a V6 the VG30ET will give about the sma eperformance for less $$, less fab work, and less crap under the hood

oh thank you very much..i dunno ill be buying a mint 240z (under 7k) so sooner or later ill be doing a swap (well not me but you get the idea) so i was thinking what engine would be best for me and the lady. my choices are L28 (bit out dated) RB25, or VG30..

but i think ill go with the rb25, i was doing some research, and im feeling it. i'll keep it single turbo, nothing big. i live in florida so i wont have any problems driving it around. i don't have to deal with emissions bs.

thanks again.

if you think the L28 is "outdated" you should probably not have an S30

the L28ET is the most power for the least amount of money and the least amount of work, do some searchign and reading and get to knwo your S30 and your L24 before you decide to change it

actua;ly, you live in FL, go buy a turbo S130 or a turbo Z31, take the T tops out enjoy the boost and not have to worry about an engine swap

im not really a fan of the z31 (because of its looks, great performance), ill look into the 280zx though, we do have a lot of those. depending on price and condition i might reconsider my choices.. the L28ET is from that car right. i appreciate you helping me. the s30 is just my dream car.

the turbo 280ZX was available fomr 81-83, the 81 models were all automatic's, and a large number of the turbo' were 2+2, it's the ionly genertion of Z were we got a 2+2 turbo in the states

if the S30 is your dreamcar wht the rush to replace a motor on a car you haven't even got yet? the L6 in n/a form has been known to put nearly 300 hp to the wheels! and in turbo form 600!

L28? Outdated...... The 240z-370z have all been sold in the US. They sold the 280z (L28) from '75-'78. After that they produced the 280ZX (S130) with either the L28E or L28ET. I think your best bet would be the L28ET. By the sounds of it though, I don't think you're too sure of what you want. Like Dave said, if you think the L28 is outdated....maybe you shouldn't own a S30.

yes the 180Z was sold in the US, fomr 75-78 available in both 2 seater and 2+2, I think you got confused about the 280ZX, which was available from 79-83 as a 2 seater or a 2+2, but the turbo was available only form 81-83, as a 2 seater or a 2+2

if you don't want a 2+2 don't buy one, I've bought 2+2's only as parts cars
