Is the 240z a reliable daily driver? I've found an automatic 1973 240z on craigslist for $1,300 and I'm tempted. I'm currently driving an Infiniti Q45 and the mileage combined with premium gas is killing me. I just drive my 14 miles to work and back, and spend a good 30-50 miles for the weekend to go places. I checked online and the 240z is 24 mpg. Is that accurate? Or should I expect a lower mpg since it's aged? Also, am I fine using Unleaded?
I could just go for a simple economy car, but the truth is that I still love that 240z. Even if I'm just driving from place to place, I'd like to do it in style. And when I'm feeling motivated, I can stick the 240z in the garage to work on as I drive the Q45 for a few days. I'm still learning about cars, but I'd like to learn on a car that I like, but also one that I won't feel bad if I accidently destroy somehow. But also a car where if I manage to fix it up, it'll make it even more fun to drive. As much as I fix up a Sentra, it won't be as fun as a fix'd up 240z.
Good idea? Bad idea?
