I bought my 89' 240sx for 200 dollars last may and it hasn't come really far, but it has come a long way from where it was going before I bought it(which would have been the junk yard. :[ )

I planned on turning it into a track car and spending the slim amount of my life trying to learn how to drift. I've been wanting to sense before I had my license and now that I'm 18 and own the car I plan on doing it.

I know, I sound crazy, but It will happen.

Well here is the piggy..

It has some rust spots, but what 240sx doesn't? Rust isn't hard to fix if you know how to fix it.

Its a SOHC. I'm not using it. Although I did rebuild it N/A and it runs great.

If you wanna buy the SOHC, I live in PA, let me know. I want it gone.

I picked the donor engine, a Ka24de.

I plan on boosting it with an SR20 T25. It should pull over 200hp easy and that's all I'm looking for.

here is where the engine sits as off dismorning.

Well here it is. All I have for the engine so far is the manifold, t25 turbo, megan turbo elbow and downpipe. injectors coming soon.

Also, if you come in here expecting to just rant and rave about how bad my build is, seriously just leave, because people are getting on my nerves. This is my build and my money, I just opinions but your not gonna call me retarded because I didn't do this or another. There is a reason for everything they always say.

for reals! Not much of a build if you're not really BUILDING anything.

I"m confused, how isn't an engine swap, turbo, eventual suspension upgrade like coilovers and such not a build? Besides the car was junk when i bought it and now it runs and drives great? umm..Yeah.

I know, but I'm waiting and doing one thing at a time, first is the engine build and swap.

Looks super clean to me. I have seen alot of junky 240's around Ohio, yours would be a 8 out of 10 on the rust scale( 1 being a moving chunk of rust). KA-T is a good set-up, 200whp should not be that hard.

a build is more....in depth.

its not just a stock KADE swap, low end turbo setup slapped on there, and suspension stuff "later on"

you should be doing more to it. rebuild the motor. get some better turbo stuff. go nuts.

just my opinion i guess. though youre still not really building anything.

Dont trip man, most people on here just want to see tires worthlessly rubbing against fenders with worthless front suspension geometry.

Good luck with the build look forward to seeing updates!

I kinda figured, but I didn't think that I'd have that kind of response 5 posts into this forum. I was just like...ummm wow.

But whatever, if you don't like my build go..

I'm on a budget, and its tight, so I'm going crazy with what I have. I'm planning to hopefully get 250rwhp out of that T25, I've seen it done and I plan on doing everything right, because I'm perfectionist and I need it that way. So when the ka24e is pulled I'll be cleaning and rearranging everything under the hood. It should be sweet when its done. :D

And Just because I can't spend 1500 dollars to rebuild the bottom end doesn't mean its not a build. Please don't flame because my priorities are a bit different then you think they should be. :] Now lets all be happy?

I know, but he was a dying old man and he didn't want the car, and he saw my craigslist ad looking for a cheap 240sx and he calls me like, I'm scraping this car, come get it or its gone..i'm like I'll be there tonight. haha

That was a steal for $200, and don't worry what the others say, it's still making it better than stock.

I love driving the roads around Racoon twp. and Swickeley<-extremely butchered spelling I think.

LOL, anyone who knows me on here should know that im not a big fan of the SR. its got its pros and whatever, but its kind of an easy way out of the lacking-power situation. plus, the sr wont touch the torque the ka can put out.

i was saying a STOCK kade swap. no rebuild, no internal upgrades, etc. just stock, bare bone swap and drop a turbo on it.

ive got a kade. and im actually building it, not just putting a little turbo on it with a megan or whatever manifold.

dont get me wrong, youve got props in my book for sticking KA and going boost, but a stock motor with however many miles on it, with some base-grade turbo stuff taken directly from an SR just doesnt cut it as a "build"

just my two cents. dont take it as flaming, i was just stating my opinion.

Hey looks good so far.

I think if you took more pictures of everything you do. It would calm the natives a little bit haha .

Take your time. Projects/builds need time to bloom.

Okay?

And I'm not just slaping a turbo on it, I'm going to do it right. But This KA doesn't need rebuilt for 200-250rwhp, it can't handle that all day long. It has 90,xxx miles on it and its a clean engine.

Its a build, even if its not to your standards. That's the only problem here.

I actually have like 300 or so pictures of all what i've done so far. But it's all pretty lame stuff. Just body repairs and stuff, nothing major. And I put a new timing chain kit and head gaskets on the ka24e.

Why didn't you just boost your SOHC? You said it runs great right? And plus, IT'S ALREADY IN THE CAR. Whatever, there has to be a reason I guess. Anyways, keep us updated.

Dont worry about tramp dude, his whole thread is 5 pages talking about how is going to fit wheels and coils on his coupe... BOOOOOOOORRRIIIINNNNNNNNGGG.

Also tramp for the record, my sr puts almost 50ft.lbs more torque to the ground and no its not on a t25.

Post some more pics up though and get this thread rollin!
