yesterday some lady sideswiped my 240 and removed my front bumper, pushed over the bumper support, and tweaked the frame endrails. is this reparable?

I would say most of that is fixable, but bring it to a body shop for good inspection.

call around and find a shop with a frame puller. They should be able to pull it straight. I don't know what all you have into your 240 but if it's mostly stock you may be better off taking a payoff and finding another 240.

unfortunately it looks as if my 240 is a total loss, i will be taking part of the payout and keeping the car, new motor, new trans, and too much other stuff to list. but it seems as i am in the market for a new shell.

It doesn't take much to write a car off these days. More cars get written off today than ever before.

I think you can pull most of the damage out with a big pickup truck and a chain or maybe a come along and a tree. I have seen it done more than once.

Yea that can be fixed its not that bad.

But If I were you I'd take the cash and buy a new s14.

this shell has a little rust so im definitely replacing it now. looking for a nice southern shell. gonna stick with the s13 tho thay are hella sexy. something about the s14 tails turns me off. that and i have a new motor, trans, kybs, springs, strut bars, bushing kit, complete flawless black interior, and more for my s13. would suck to change chassis now.

Most of the damage is minor and can be repaired with swapped parts. But, the major problem you'll have is with that passenger frame rail. It's almost collapsed. Even if a body shop was to do the work, that frame rail will most likely cost a fortune. It might even total it.

well the adjuster has looked at the car and unfortunately it was totaled. tomorrow i will be moving it to a storage unit and begin my look for a new shell. it saddens me greatly to see it go, i have always wanted a 240 ever sense i was 16 and went for a ride in my step brothers. i spent an entire summer, me, my friends, and my girlfriend (yes i have seen her greasy hands), building a motor and swapping it to 5speed. its new suspension is sitting in my living room and was slated to go on this weekend. its first track day was to be in early december (thank you new orleans). now its dates are with a warehouse and a car crusher, all because some lady in a hurry was trying to slip through a yellow light that turned red. so remember this next time your hitting the gas to make that yellow light, the car you hit may be a 240 too.

This s*** happens... Lesson learned.

Besides, there are still shells to be had out there. Its not the end of the world.
