240sx wont pick up fast

i have a 1992 240sx manual. lately it started having this problem.when i put it in first gear and i rev it.it moves very slow.like im hitting the breaks. and the rpm is reving normally. what do you think is the problem?

your clutch is slipping.........get a new one and slap it in.....have it put in because i have a suspicion that you don't really know what the going ons with vehicles are

i thought it was the clutch but someone said it might be leaking something.how can i buy a clutch and how much do they run for?

if your car is stock(im guessing it is), go up to your local parts store and tell them you need a replacement clutch

your probably looking at $150 for the clutch and another $30 for the slave cylinder(you might as well replace it) and a shop will probably charge you around 4-5 hrs to change it(someone correct me if im wrong)

^^ yup thats about correct we usually charge around 80 bucks an hours at the dealership.

do me a favor bud. look and see if you see any oil leaking from the bell housing. just to verify this is not a rear main seal issue. doubt it is cause it'll probably be slipping uncontrollably if it was.
