My 89 240 just had the engine swapped over to the SR20. Stock turbo, only other mods are exhaust. I have a little over 1,500 miles on the swap. I installed a Boost controller, and gauge and have been having problems since. When car is idleing the boost gauge reads 5psi. When I get into the throttle it jumps up to 14 psi and then drop's down to 12psi instantly. Also went to start the car the other day and did not want to even start. Finally got is started and the car is hesitating when I get in the throttle. Can someone give me so ideas on what to try out to get this fixed? The timing is dead on. Not sure what else it could be.

My advice is to un-install the boost controller tp pin-point your problem. If the problem started when you installed it, then that is probably associated withyour problem.

Yeah, I agree with ^^ but it sounds like a vaccum issue, assuming your gauge is vac. Start by dissconnecting unnesecary vac lines 1 by 1 including your controller (presuming its a vac controller) make sure you have the setup correct, go from there.I know i had some sputtering issues until i found out my controller was set incorrectly with a slight leakgood luck

it may be simply that the vacum hoses are connected in reverse to either the bost controll soilenoid or the actuator causing an improper routing or airflow into the engine without being monitored by the MAF sensor. like the other said, just tinker with the vacum lines and see what helps doesnt help. but best of luck to you and happy holidays!
