240SX with LS1 Speedo fix

I have put a few miles on my recent build, an LS1 from a 98 Corvette in my 91 240SX hatch. 1st day out , on my way to get the ECM set to 66,000 pulse per mile, and calculate tire size and gear ratio's, I get pulled over for speeding. 110KPH in a 90KM zone. I was at 1200RPM in 6th gear, like almost idiling. Anyway, has anyone tried doing what is described in this link?

I thought I had done it correctly, but the needle hasn't moved yet. It was cheap, like about $2.50, far far cheaper than the Dakota Digital Box at $85.
Does anyone have any other info on how to accomplish this, that is get the stock speedo to work with the LS1 ECM?
