I worked on this project since New Year, should have finished it a long time ago. But due to the shipping delay and lack of material, I finished it 3 months late.

Before installation

During installation (with HID on)

Sleepy angel eyes in daylight

At night

What do you think?

Material:

Cheap Ebay 240sx black carbon projector headlight (they looks like projector but they won't focus the light source on the street like those projector. The only good thing is that they don't blind other drivers. $35

CCFL ring, 10.5mm, full circle, not half cirlce like those BMW (LED angel eyes won't be visible with HID) $40 - $55

H4(low or high/low) HID xenon $85 - $200 depend on brand

Clear epoxyHeat gun

Procedure:

Take out the housing by stick it in the oven for 3-5 minutes, don't break the glass when you try to seperate the housing with the flat head screwdriver

Use epoxy to glue the ccfl ring to the housing. Make a hole on the housing for the ccfl wire go through. In this case, the housing I purchased already had a hole for optional blue street light. I took that bulb out for to make room for the ring's wire.

The rest is just simple disassembling and installing.

Wiring:I connect the ccfl straight to the battery through a separated switchHID instalation is the same for every H4 bulb, you need a H4 HID relay. From there, just connect the HID relay to the old headlight socket (in this case, they're the 3 wires that used to connect the headlight to the factory switch, they don't have socket), and connect the ballast to the relay.

A simple diagram for HID relay shematic

It's simple. All you need to know is how to install HID, and make a parallel circuit for the CCFL. Be careful with the housing, don't break it or you'll finish it 3 months late like I did

Do your angel eyes give off a street-glow effect when in sleepy mode?
