240sx with 300zx brakes e-brake not functioning

after I tightened the adjusting nut on the parking brake handle. Now when I release the e brake, the rear are still locked and won't move. I don't feel any tension from the parking cable when I release the parking brake handle. Did I overtightened the cable and break it? How should I start to look for and fix this problem?

It's a 240sx with 300zx brakes/5lugs setup

you could have snapped the ebrake adjusting bolt or you may have not tightened down the e-brake lines tightly enough.
