I've transported motors like this all the time. I have 2 sr's at one point doing it this way.
strip the block down, take off the accesories and manifolds. from here you can either lay it against your back seat and use your seat belt to hold it in place, it fits quite nicely, only takes 2 people to lift, unless you are a bunch of p******. or you can take your pasenger seat out and you can fit the whole motor without taking anything off. I only do this when I have a trans to carry and I put the trans in the backseat and put the motor where the passenger seat goes. it can always fit in the trnk if you lay it flat
